Hospitality proprietors, geothermal spa directors, and economic development staff with the City of Calistoga and the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce have launched their late-October and November "Upvalley Wellness & Harvest Trail" campaign, welcoming Bay Area travelers as golden autumn foliage peaks across northern Napa County. Reviewed with the Calistoga City Council in October 2026, the coordinated tourism initiative pairs the town's century-old volcanic mineral hot springs and Lincoln Avenue boutiques with car-free cycling along the newly completed Upvalley stretch of the Napa Valley Vine Trail. Local lodging and restaurant revenues generated during the autumn shoulder season directly fund municipal street, park, and water-system maintenance.

Situated at the base of 4,342-foot Mount Saint Helena, Calistoga sits atop a natural geothermal aquifer that heats mineral-rich groundwater used in outdoor soaking pools and volcanic ash mud baths along Lincoln Avenue, Stevenson Street, and Foothill Boulevard. As crisp late-October mornings settle into the upper Napa Valley, resorts and historic bathhouses are offering midweek day-pass packages bundled with local farm-to-table dining vouchers and complimentary electric-bicycle charging.

A major catalyst for this autumn's visitor turnout is the paved 8.2-mile northern segment of the Napa Valley Vine Trail, which connects downtown Calistoga directly past Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park and Bothe-Napa Valley State Park into downtown St. Helena. In partnership with the Napa Valley Transportation Authority (NVTA), visitors can also board the on-demand Calistoga Shuttle for point-to-point rides between inns, wineries, and downtown restaurants without driving on Highway 29.

Travelers and Napa County residents can pick up printed Vine Trail cycling maps, mineral spa guides, and winter light-parade schedules at the Calistoga Welcome Center at 1133 Washington Street, online at visitcalistoga.com, or by calling (707) 942-6333.
