The Napa Farmers Market Association announced on Tuesday morning that it has expanded its acclaimed Market Match food assistance program at the Napa Valley Expo fairgrounds on 3rd Street, doubling dollar-for-dollar matching benefits for families utilizing CalFresh and EBT nutritional assistance. Under the expanded program, low-income county residents can match up to $30 per market day, providing $60 in fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and pantry staples per market visit.

The non-profit market, which operates every Tuesday and Saturday morning year-round, hosts more than 40 regional family farms, bakeries, and artisanal food producers from across Napa, Sonoma, and Solano counties. Funding for the benefit expansion was secured through a cooperative partnership between the California Department of Food and Agriculture, the Gasser Foundation, and regional community philanthropic contributions.

Local agricultural producers, health department dietitians, and community advocates highlighted that direct nutrition incentives keep food assistance dollars circulating within the local agricultural economy while ensuring vulnerable farmworker families have equitable access to nutrient-dense, organically grown produce. Market directors reported that CalFresh redemption volume has grown 38 percent over the past year, reflecting rising grocery inflation pressures on local household budgets.

Families, community members, and volunteers can view complete market vendor directories, bilingual nutrition education schedules, and CalFresh enrollment information online at napafarmersmarket.org. Questions regarding market token redemption and community non-profit booth reservations may be directed to the Napa Farmers Market manager Tuesday through Saturday at (707) 501-3087. The market offers ample free parking and accessible public transit connections from the Soscol Gateway Transit Center.
