Walk & Roll to School Day is scheduled for October 7, 2026, in Napa County with 28 participating schools and police crossing guard assistance.

Twenty-eight Napa County schools are set to take part in Walk & Roll to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 7, an annual event encouraging students to walk, bike or roll to school.

The event is organized locally by the Napa County Bicycle Coalition under the Napa County Safe Routes to School program, according to a column published in the Napa Valley Register by coalition program manager Carlotta Sainato. An estimated 2,000 students countywide are expected to participate.

Participating schools plan to greet arriving students with welcome tables staffed by volunteers and stocked with snacks and small rewards, the column states.

Police departments in American Canyon, Napa and St. Helena will provide crossing guard assistance at busy school intersections on the morning of the event. The coalition noted that assistance is subject to change if officers must respond to a call.

Funding for the program comes from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
